3. Working

The Orifice Plate is installed between flanges in a pipeline. As fluid flows through the pipe, the orifice plate creates a restriction, generating a differential pressure. This pressure drop is measured using pressure taps, and using Bernoulli’s equation, the flow rate is calculated.

4.Principle

Based on the Bernoulli Principle, the velocity of a fluid increases as it passes through a restriction (orifice plate), leading to a drop in pressure. This differential pressure is proportional to the flow rate, allowing accurate measurement.

6. Installation Process

  5. Connect pressure taps to a differential pressure transmitter.
  6. Inspect for proper alignment and sealing.
  7. Perform calibration & testing before operation.
