Description

1. Product Description

LO-CUS® Rubber Diaphragms are flexible elastomeric membranes used as seals and pressure transmitters in pneumatic, hydraulic, and industrial equipment. These diaphragms are designed to deform elastically when pressure is applied and return to their original shape after the pressure is removed.

They are manufactured using high-grade rubber compounds like Nitrile, EPDM, Neoprene, Silicone, and Viton to ensure durability, chemical resistance, and temperature tolerance.

3. Working

The diaphragm works by flexing back and forth under pressure or vacuum without permitting fluid or air to pass through. It isolates different process mediums while transferring force or movement, maintaining a sealed environment.

4. Principle

A diaphragm operates on the principle of elastic deformation. It flexes under applied pressure or vacuum and reverts to its original shape when pressure normalizes. It transmits mechanical motion or pressure without fluid transfer.

5. Assembly

  • Position diaphragm between flanges, housings, or actuator mounts
  • Align mounting holes with bolts/studs
  • Ensure correct tension (do not overtighten)
  • For reinforced diaphragms, ensure fabric orientation as per design

6. Installation Process

  1. Clean mounting surfaces to remove dust/oil
  2. Align diaphragm correctly with bolt holes
  3. Apply mild lubricant or sealant (if required)
  4. Tighten bolts diagonally and evenly
  5. Test pressure for leakage post-installation
