Description

1. Description

Locus Anti-Vibration Pads are designed to reduce and isolate vibrations, shocks, and noise generated by industrial machinery, HVAC systems, compressors, and other vibrating equipment. Manufactured using high-grade rubber and polyurethane composites, these pads ensure long-lasting performance and structural integrity.

2. Specification

  • Material: Natural Rubber, Neoprene, EPDM, or PU
  • Thickness: 10 mm to 100 mm
  • Shape: Square, Rectangular, Circular
  • Coating: Optional anti-skid or oil-resistant coating
  • Load Bearing Capacity: Up to 2000 kg
  • Customization: Logo embossing, size, and shape

3. Working

These pads work by absorbing and dissipating kinetic energy produced by vibrating equipment. Their elastic properties provide cushioning that isolates the machine from the surface, preventing transmission of vibrations to the floor and surrounding structures.

4. Principle

The design is based on the principle of vibration isolation through elastomeric damping. The elastomeric material undergoes controlled deformation, absorbing vibrations and converting them into low-level heat energy, thereby reducing the transmission of mechanical energy.

5. Assembly

  1. Select the appropriate pad based on load and equipment type.
  2. Place the pad beneath the mounting base or feet of the equipment.
  3. For bolt-through types, align holes and secure using bolts.
  4. Ensure even distribution for multi-pad assemblies.

6. Installation Process

  1. Clean the surface where the pad will be mounted.
  2. Place the pad(s) correctly below equipment.
  3. Ensure level alignment.
  4. Bolt or fix the pad if required.
  5. Perform a load test to confirm proper isolation.

7. Technical Specification

  • Hardness: 40-70 Shore A
  • Tensile Strength: >10 MPa
  • Elongation at Break: >250%
  • Compression Set: <20%
  • Dynamic Load Range: 20 kg to 2000 kg
  • Thermal Resistance: -20°C to +120°C

8. Troubleshooting

Issue

Cause

Solution

Excessive vibration still present

Under-rated pad

Recalculate load and replace pad

Pad slipping

Improper installation or wrong base

Use anti-skid coating or adhesive base

Pad cracking or deformation

Overload or chemical exposure

Upgrade to chemical/oil resistant model
